This is a replica of a sock worn during the Civil War. It is made with 100% Sport Weight Wool. A copy of the Original pattern can be viewed on the Civil War Re-Enactment Socks page. These were first knitted in Chester County Pennsylvania by volunteers for the soldiers. As shown, the sock was made in a variety of colors with the red, white, and blue strips in the ribbing and 1" thick.
